For example, when McDonald's Corp. was besieged by critics of its packaging and waste management practices, we conceived and implemented the award-winning McRecycle USA Program, the nation's largest corporate commitment to the purchase of recycled materials. The program succeeded in vaulting McDonald's to the top of the list of America's most environmentally responsible companies, according to an Advertising Age survey. It also led to a partnership, facilitated by partners in Holt & Germann, between McDonald's and the Environmental Defense Fund on solid waste management planning, the nation's first working relationship between a major corporation and a national environmental group.
