Jonathan T. Holt

Jon Holt specializes in developing community relations, public information and government affairs programs in support of client activities, particularly those involving environmental issues. Since 1977, he has been providing these specialized public affairs services to clients in the fields of chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, public utilities, water supply, transportation, solid and hazardous waste management, and health care services. As a principal of Holt & Germann, Jon has developed and implemented public affairs programs for Pharmacia, Dow Chemicals, the American Chemistry Council, AT&T Wireless, Schering-Plough Corporation, Merck & Co., McDonald's Corporation, Kraft Foods, GPU, and DuPont. Jon has also worked closely with state and local governments on the development and implementation of public participation programs related to environmental and economic development programs.

A 1971 graduate of Drew University, Madison, New Jersey, Jon has extensive experience in public affairs and government. In 1973, he joined the Office of Policy & Analysis, Federal Energy Administration, Washington, D.C., where his responsibilities included the coordination of public information programs for the country's Project Independence Energy Project. His federal government experience also includes service as special assistant to the Deputy Secretary, U.S. Department of Transportation and as a Legislative Assistant to a U.S. Congressman. Jon has been active in political campaigns at the state and national level, having served in senior campaign management positions for President Gerald R. Ford and New Jersey Governor Tom Kean.

Jon has gained national recognition for his innovative approach to the development of community relations and public acceptance programs to support controversial projects. He has presented papers and delivered speeches on the subject to such national groups as the U.S. Conference of Mayors; Public Relations Society of America; American Planning Association; Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association; and the American Water Works Association.

Jon is a member of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and the New Jersey Alliance for Action and serves on the boards of directors of the New Jersey chapters of the Public Relations Society of America and The Nature Conservancy.
